People are beginning to complain about no longer being covered by health insurance!! Is this the result of GOP Congress voting last week to repeal healthcare?? First, Congress (U.S. Senate and House), have not voted to actually repeal the ACA; rather, the GOP controlled U.S. Senate voted on a plan that will exclude any block of repeal by Democrats in the U.S. Senate. In essence, the GOP can repeal the ACA in the same fashion that the Democrats approved the ACA in early 2010. That plan was sorely needed but the method, I did not agree with.

In other words, the GOP Congress can do it but have not repealed – yet!!

Here is the grave concern. Healthcare is run differently from State to State. Those States, predominantly under Republican control and as well, takers instead of donors, of Federal dollars, will not be able to offer State healthcare to their residents, without Federal aide. Sadly, the ACA is not really at issue here, even by Obama, who said let the GOP provide something better – is fine. The issue here is just what is the new “great” GOP healthcare replacement “for everyone”?? Not a clue in sight on that one.

The bottom line especially in many of the GOP controlled States is very likely, that medium and low income residents will suffer. The same who voted for the GOP and for Trump are those who will end up in much worse positions as far as family healthcare, than current. If GOP Congress get too excited and do the repeal, they are going to find we the people with no healthcare system and they, GOP Congress directly responsible for blowing up the ACA or in other words our healthcare system.

The Democrats have rightly stated a plan not to participate unless the new plan meets the needs of “we the people”.

Unfortunately partisan politics and greed will never allow the only solution – Medicare for all (also known as single payer).
