SURE ENOUGH!
I found out Facebook is in the data vacuuming business! Not only is the info I added myself in my data archive but also:
- my mobile phone CONTACTS
- my mobile phone CALL HISTORY
- my mobile phone TEXTING HISTORY
All in my Facebook Data Download Archive. The result, utter astonishment that FB felt obligated or permitted to grab all this info without explicitly asking permission!
First Step: FACEBOOK IS OFF MY MOBILE PHONE RIGHT NOW! Second Step: I am going to DEMAND that data is removed.
Last Step: I am going straight to the ZUCK to tell him personally what I think of his practices. I may have to get “trite” with the (rich and wealthy) dweeb.
Man!! I think I may have to post on #metoo now?
How to discover how much FB knows about you.
- 1. Download your FB data archive from Facebook (click for directions)
- 2. When you get the download “zip file”. Right-click it and then extract all.
- 3. Go into the newly created folder, which is named the same as the zip-file. In this folder is a file called index.html.
- 4. open this file using your normal browser.
- 5. go to Contacts Info (located in the menu below your profile pic).
- 6. Scroll down and LAMENT what you see.
- 7. You should look under every category under your profile pic but also interesting (or horrifying) is the Ads item. This will show which advertisers have your contact info.
