Will Bernie Sanders be the Ted Cruz of Biden’s time?
Will he and Progressives like Warren and Ocasio-Cortez shut our nation down for their mostly good but far too idealistic objectives? Will the United States default and plummet for the Progressives’ impatience; their implied use of “my way or no way” tactics?
The Progressive DEMs seem not to remember the damage done by all the infighting over the healthcare bill of 2009; what that did to the DEM brand. That infighting decayed confidence in our lib base elected.
DEMs seem to have forgotten that infighting did severe damage to the DEM brand over the next 8 years (2010-2018) and really until 2020. Yes it took eight and really ten years for the US House and finally, the US Senate to come back to the DEMs by very slim majority.
And now, the Progressives and moderates are doing a ‘Live Die Repeat’, infighting out in the open, in 2021! This lack of learning from the recent past decade points clearly to a party of Incompetent idealist elected Democrats.
What were the other results of that 2009 infighting?
- A broken ACA (still to date).
- We the moderate lib base and Independents in particular lost confidence in our Democrat elected.
- In 2010, 2012, and 2014, the DEMS lost majorities in both houses of Congress as well as helped propel Scott Brown (R) to a win.
Yes, due to that infighting, Scott Brown (R – Party of NO) won in Massachusetts in 2010, of all states, to take Ted Kennedy Senate seat and doom the ACA to be broken for more than a decade now.
DEM infighting caused our President Obama to have no progress whatsoever with Congress, for the rest of his term.
As of 2010, the GOP became a full throated, IN CONTROL, PARTY OF NO!
The bottom line: Moderates and Independents DO NOT want a combination of must be linked, leveraged all or nothing bills, forced by the Progressives (AGAIN). We want smooth actions, a steps approach. We want bipartisan bills whenever possible (both sides willing), not all or nothing, disastrous consequences, partisan bills.
Come on Progressives! You cannot knee-jerk, ram-rod, unfinished, over-bloated, extreme DEM partisan bills, by threatening a national default and shutdown. This is not a two-way street. Two things are ready to go now
- INCREASE THE DEBT LIMIT and
- THE BIPARTISAN INFRATRUCTURE BILL.
PASS THESE NOW!
One bill is not even close yet – work on that to get it right and do not aire the DEM laundry in public. Just get it done maybe into next year if needed. But right now Progressives have taken We the People to the brink of national default and shutdown – disaster. What exactly do Progressives think We the Voters (especially Independents) are going make of their dangerous threatening destructive tactics?
Yet that is exactly where We the People and the US economy are heading right now.
