WHO ARE THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

     as of March 22nd, 2016.

Donald Trump ( R ) :: Donald Trump is a businessman and reality TV personality. Forbes has rated Mr. Trump as having a multi-billion dollar net worth. He has not yet served in any public office. Despite Trump’s unique off-color brand of campaigning, he has been winning 35-45% of the conservative vote in primaries. Trump has controversially stated that all Muslims hate the U.S. and has pledged that he will ban all Muslims from entering the U.S. This statement has brought global outrageous, upon the United States, that we would support such a candidate. Another  controversial Trump position, he says he will build a 50′ wall across the U.S. southern border and force the Mexican government to pay for it.The President of Mexico says – HA!!

Donald Trump’s stated positions include deporting all 11-12 million undocumented from the U.S., repeal of ‘Obamacare’, increasing tax-cuts to the wealthy by three times greater than what G.W. Bush set. In an interview with Mr. Trump, published by the Washington Post on March 21st, 2016:

  • Trumps stated that the answer to black racial discrimination by law-enforcement was more jobs for blacks!!
  • Trump was asked whether he would use tactical nuclear weapons to defeat ISIS, instead of ground troops? His response “I don’t want to”

!! Did he REALLY say that !!

Despite all this Donald Trump remains the Republican front-runner!!

Ted Cruz ( R-Sen – Texas ) :: Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was elected to U.S. Senate in 2012, his first term. Senator Cruz is an honorable and hardworking member of Congress. He is also a self proclaimed anti-establishment political force and has aligned himself with the modern tea party / party of NO, movement.

Cruz positions include repealing ‘Obamacare’, deportation of all undocumented from the U.S., stronger border control including building a wall, ending use of the IRS.  In one of Senator Cruz’ recent controversial positions he stated the need for law-enforcement scrutiny of Muslim-Americans in our neighborhoods here in the U.S. – in other words, racial profiling.

What may be considered Ted Cruz often stated (by him), modus operandi –

“I WILL NOT COMPROMISE”

John Kasich ( R-Gov – Ohio ) :: Current Governor of Ohio (2011+); long term member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1983-2001) – was chairman of the House Budget Committee (1995-2001). Governor Kasich speaks with the most honorable and presidential candor of the Republican candidates. He has gone out of his way, not to engage in the circus theatrics of Trump. Unfortunately, a couple of the other candidates ended up in the circus ring with ‘the Donald’.

Much of what Governor Kasich says, though conservative leaning, makes a lot of sense for all Americans, conservative and liberal minded.

His positions speak of localizing (send to states), many of our current national programs, working towards amicable resolve for the undocumented (not deporting them),  improved infrastructure, trim the deficit, and improve education; all these in the same way he has succeeded in his home state, as governor.

Governor Kasich is the only conservative candidate who gives some credit to Obama and Democrats (when he feels it is due). This speaks volumes about his potential to work together with Congress.

Hillary Clinton ( D – Secretary State, Sen – NY ) ::  Hillary as she is often referred to, is the former Secretary of State (2011-2013), a two term U.S. Senator from New York (2001-2009); spouse of President Bill Clinton. Hillary is committed to a bit more centered liberal agenda. She has made one of her campaign resolves, “to work together” and find common ground with Congress, to end the gridlock.

Hillary plans to encourage expanded public education (K-14), she stands beside and defends the Obama progress and pledges to build on that progress; plans to improve as opposed to repealing or re-inventing. She is a stolid advocate of anti-discrimination, equal rights, and equal pay. She wants immigration reform, border security, and official status for the undocumented in the U.S. Clinton is an advocate of diplomacy, not supremacy as regards world relations.

Bernie Sanders ( D-Sen Vermont ) :: Has served as Representative in the U.S. House (1991-2007) and U.S. Senator (2007-current). Sanders is the longest serving independent, in U.S. history, though Senator Sanders declared affiliation with the Democratic party in 2015. His lengthy voting record paints him a liberal voice. Senator Sanders gained recognition in 2010 as the Senator who filibustered the extension of the Bush Tax cuts.

Senator Sanders is dedicated to affordable healthcare for every US. citizen (often referred to as Medicare for all), K-16 federally funded education. His tax strategy is based on income, including passive and capital income. He is an advocate for equal rights, equal pay, no more discrimination, equal playing field incentives, basic necessities for all citizens. Sanders has committed that as President, he will not deport the undocumented.
