I have become dismayed as regards this novelty that we proclaim as our voting system; our U.S. two party system, which most Americans claim as the foundation of our democracy. The more I learn about these private clubs called the RNC and DNC; the more I realize how futile and powerless , is my sacred vote.
Rather than voting for our primary candidates, we have a “straw poll” (a fake vote), or we all get together to bash (the other party), … and then we vote for delegates, who vote for delegates, who vote however they wish!! Is this the actual definition of the political circus that I keep hearing rumors of??
And then there are these things called super-delegates, a small but powerful portion of the total delegates – in both the DNC and RNC parties.
DO SUPER-DELEGATES DECIDE WHO WE ALL GET TO VOTE FOR??
Now it would be great to think these super-types are some sort of super-men, championing for the rights and safety of the common man eh? But these super-delegates are so-called because, … they are free of the common man, free of voters in fact!!
SUPER DELEGATES VOTE IN CONVENTION – ANY WAY THEY WANT!!
These long-time party beholden politicians get to choose any way their
hearts desire. Do a wiki on these people who are listed by name. See how many you have ever ever heard of. So the bottom line is 714 of 4,700 total (DNC), or 168 of the roughly 2,400 total (RNC) delegates are free to sway our elections – in any way they (the RNC or DNC leaders) want them to. Furthermore, after a failed first vote, ALL the delegates can vote as they please, without regard to primaries voters.
(double DOUBLE OUCH!!)
BUT WHY WOULD THE PRIVATE CLUBS WANT TO SELECT CANDIDATES??
The official reason is that these super-delegates (long time politicians of the party) are chosen because of their wisdom, because they know the will of the voters in their states?? But the real answer is so much more obvious (treacherous). In any close race (2016??), the DNC or the RNC club leaders, get to chose our President. We choose from their choices!! Dah, so much for our democracy, but we all have been educated; educated to realize that this is democracy at its finest. They (a few thousand politicians) choose who we (three-hundred-thirty million voters) – get to vote for!! What a marvel (horror) idea.
I have a word for this indirect, inside control of our government, by powerful, wealthy individuals – its called PLUTOCRACY (rule by wealth). Only wealth in this case, can hide behind the curtain of their own making, a thing we are taught is democracy. Oh wait, you cry constitution foul?? Oops, the Democratic National Committee and all their state affiliates; the Republican National Committee and all their state affiliates – are private organizations; not beholden to any constitutional laws per voting!! That’s right, we have been allowing a couple of private organizations, run by wealthy, powerful, politicians, and wealthy political objectives-forces (SUPERPACS) – these choose the candidates we elect as leaders. HA!!
