I think that ALL of We the People owe these three Senators a thanks from all of us to each of they. The three Senators did not save OBcare nor should they have. They have taken a great risk of heat from the Tribesmen of their party though. Especially Murkowski and Collins, who are being subjected not only to tribal abuse but as well abuse because they are – smart women.
These three stood up to Tribal, Partisan, politics. They stood up to the ranting, narcissist, tribesmen (potus) and to those in their own party, who cannot see the daily decay imposed as a consequence of tribal political warfare as the approach.
Senators John McCain, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski stood up for values and invited the entire Congress to STOP!! Stop being party tribal and start – working together for common progress. We will hold the DEM Congress to no less a standard as this – period!
They were speaking to We the People too – to STOP!! Stop looking over each other and start to listen, learn, find common ground – achieve a better US.
All in all, July 27th and actually, the finale, final vote very early on July 28th – this was a day of celebration for We the People who did not totally lose healthcare to the whims of the McConnells of the Senate but the work ahead is much. OBcare (ACA) is sick Why?
- Due to the way it was passed (DEM partisan extraordinaire)
- Due to grave neglect by the party of NO for over 7-yrs. You know them, the guys in Congress who say “if Obama did it then we are against it”. They like calling themselves the “Freedom Caucus” now (hee hee hee). These remain the core driving force of partisan tribal politics.
- Due to potus Trump insisting that the GOP needs let the ACA wither and die from the GOP imposed neglect. Why would Trump do that. Because his goal is not WE; rather it is he and he only wins if WE all lose. That was his promise after all.
- Due to that OBcare (ACA) was just the first step in a multi-step, growing, living, responsive healthcare system. Man has never in his entire history, created anything that did not need maintenance, tweaks, and updates – in order to continue to adapt to and satisfy the changing needs of man.
Anyway our current healthcare system needs a serious, bipartisan, overhaul!!
We must encourage all of Congress to come together, work together. Why?
- To make progress, on healthcare, on taxes, on immigration, on civil rights, on jobs, when we put our whole mind to it – there is and never has been any limit to getting the job done, RIGHT!
- A solid bipartisan Congress must start to ignore those who refuse to work together and in so doing, invite each of the tribal holdouts to join the majority in ushering in a new way of daily progress and of progress made together.
- If the objective is that every single American will receive quality, affordable care then it will take the entire Congress and a willing President to get there.
You know, it really doesn’t matter if it is Medicare for All, American Healthcare Act, jumbla, or WE DID IT TOGETHER!! The title is not the goal, We the People and our healthcare to all is the goal. Whatever it takes to get there is just great. That is exactly what Obama said in January 2017. Make our healthcare system better!

All of these DEM Senators were and are not talking Tribal warfare. Their words speak “let us help you”, “let’s do this together”. These are the words of bipartisan resolve and of progress. Unfortunately in this case, the words and actions of only the three Republican Senators – not one other were based on a required bipartisan approach.
The rest of 49 GOP Senators voted to continue the partisan, tribal game of McConnell, Trump, Pence, Hatch, Lee, Cornyn, etc., etc. It was in each of the GOP Senator’s ballpark to STOP tribal and start bipartisan – the 49 Senators choose to continue not to play with the other team.
How can this tribal partisan game truly stop? Only if we the people say to our representatives “work together or take the exit door”. We must do this in writing, in words, and ultimately, in each of our votes. That is the way we accomplish this goal.
